We wanted a name that is creative and a little bit different, kind of like us! Our name is borrowed (in slightly modified form) from my great-grandmother. I never had the chance to meet her but heard a lot of stories about her growing up. So when it came time to think up a name it had to be something that rolled off the tongue easily but with more meaning.
Because let's face it folks, we're a pretty unique outfit. The underlying premise of the Gestalt psychologists resonates with us, we can look at all of the individual parts that make up a person or an organization or an event but all of those parts put together represent something that is greater than just the sum of the individual contributions.
And that's really who we are, acknowledging that we are more than the sum of our parts and we bring that perspective to the services that we offer. We love photography and getting great pictures for our clients but we're more than that because we've spent many years working with people to help them achieve their goals. Why not acknowledge that we are complex creatures and roll all of these things into one concept? So that's what we have done and we want to help you live your MODzent life.
At MODzent we’ve worked with clients spanning America and the World. We are committed to continual development. Let us help you realize your vision, capture those monumental occasions, or just snap some fun pictures.
We seek to provide an individualized experience for each client. We are all unique so too will be your experience with MODzent. We are interested in learning about you so we can best serve your needs.
Sometimes we forget that everyone walks through this world on a slightly different path. I'm here to celebrate individuality by helping you find your unique place in this world. I'm a product of some very unique experiences myself.
I studied psychology as an undergraduate and graduate student with a layover for a masters degree in business management. Then I tried to get as far away from psychology as possible, ending up in the renewable energy industry where I was able to use all of the things I learned both in the social sciences as well as business school to run a company focused on assisting in the development of renewable energy projects.
But the classroom called me back and I ended up staring at a group of somewhat bewildered students on a Tuesday morning in September, probably with a similarly bewildered look on my face. Education had changed a lot since I had last been on campus. I ran into one of those students recently and learned that she is working towards her own degree in psychology.
I've been back in the classroom at least a little bit of each year since 2015. In that time I've realized just how important the study of psychology is to me personally and to all of us more generally. Each class brings new opportunities for me to connect with the roots of psychology and to help others appreciate how all of the different aspects of our biology and experiences fit together. I've developed a grand appreciation for the reality that simple theories are beautiful in their brevity but likely leaving out a lot of the human experience.
We are impossibly complicated creatures without being impossible to understand...or help. And that's where MODzent comes in as a celebration of my own diverse interests helping others to recognize all of the diverse elements that make up their own individual humanity.
